We were delighted to be a part of the Cross Community Cupwhich took place last weekend on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28thMay at the Lough Moss Centre in Carryduff. The tournament brought togetherfootball clubs and children from all communities of Northern Ireland to havefun and share their love of football.
2017 marks the third year running that the Cross CommunityCup has taken place, and this year was even bigger and better than ever withhuge numbers of children taking part! In total there were 960 children from 96teams competing in the tournament this year.
There were a number of big local names involved in thetournament! Teams included Linfield, Glentoran, Celtic Boys, Shankill Juniors,Magherafelt Sky Blues, Tristar Boys, and Killyleagh, amongst a number of otherswho participated and enjoyed the game together.
This was a weekend not to be missed. Many popped along tosupport their local club and watched some of Northern Ireland’s talentedfootballers. There were barbeques, refreshments and fun for all the family. Somewere even lucky enough to have the opportunity to have their photograph takenwith ‘Footie’, the Irish FA mascot.
