The Spring Months are popular for booking Summer holidays - we've hit that wall between Christmas and Summer and often need something to look forward to.
We at Hughes Insurance have prepared some handy hints and tips you should take on board before you travel:
- Ensure you have adequate Travel Insurance Cover as policies differ dependent on the type of activities you will participate in. For example, the level of cover you require will be different if you are going to sit on a sunny beach compared to a ski holiday.
- If your travel locations are within Europe, ensure you have a European Health Insurance Card which will cover EU State hospital treatments*. Hopefully this won't be needed, but it's always better to be safe than sorry! Plus, they are free to obtain so really it's win-win.
- It seems so obvious, yet so many of us forget to check - make sure your passport is in date and will be valid for the periods you intend to travel in.
- Check early if you will need an additional visa as these can be a lengthy process to obtain!
- If you are planning multiple trips this year, it may be more cost effective to purchase an annual multi trip policy opposed to single trip. Both types of Travel Insurance are available to purchase from Hughes!
*The EHIC is not a substitute for travel insurance, this provides medical cover only.
