With effect from the 2nd of August 2021, the European Commission have now agreed that Green Cards are no longer required for any UK registered motor vehicles when being driven in the Republic of Ireland, the European Union and all other countries which have satisfied the requirements of the Commission of the European Union.
Although there is no requirement to have a Green Card when driving within the agreed countries – you must take your certificate of motor insurance when driving your motor vehicle abroad.
